The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience, particularly with combustion equipment. John Zink is seeking a Combustion Systems Specialist to drive growth in our Combustion business for our international clients in Europe, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. John Zink specializes in providing innovative technical and service solutions for industrial value chains. The company provides uniquely engineered solutions for Process Heating, Power Burners, Flare Systems, Thermal Oxidizer Systems, Flare Gas Recovery Systems, Vapor Recovery Systems, and Vapor Combustion Systems. The role will report to the Manager of Systems Technology.

Requirements:
Chemical or Mechanical Engineering university degree with at least 10 years of direct experience in the refining/petrochemical industry.
Significant process design and engineering experience with combustion equipment – flare systems, thermal oxidizers, and burners (process, boiler, incinerator, etc.), for use in the Refining and Petrochemical industry is required.
Understanding of systems components and their application to a holistic, combustion system design – e.g. waste heat boilers, scrubbers, heat exchangers, knock-out drums, etc.
Proficiency with advanced calculation and design software such as Autocad, Aspen HYSYS, FRNC-5PC, Flaresim, or other proprietary combustion design software, etc.
Strong leadership and inter-personal skills and ability to connect with a multidisciplinary, multinational engineering team.
Familiarity and experience with industry standards related to combustion equipment (e.g. API, ISO, EN, NFPA, etc.) and their application.
Fluency in English – written and spoken – is mandatory. Any additional languages will be beneficial
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to communicate effectively (verbal, written, presentations) across a wide range of internal and external customers – Management, Commercial, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project & Site Management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel Approximately 30% travel required, on a worldwide basis.
