This role involves conducting preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on a variety of machinery, such as conveyors, pumps, motors, compressors, and production equipment. The specialist works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to address equipment malfunctions, minimize downtime, and enhance equipment performance and reliability.Key Responsibilities:1. Maintenance Operations Management: Oversee daily maintenance activities for production machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure operational continuity. Ensure machinery operates at optimal efficiency, reducing unplanned downtime and maximizing productivity.2. Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead, guide, and supervise maintenance technicians and engineers in executing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.3. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling: Prioritize and schedule maintenance work orders in alignment with production needs to minimize disruptions. Coordinate with production and operations teams to plan maintenance activities during non-peak production periods.4. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and service logs. Prepare detailed reports on maintenance performance, downtime analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).5. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Provide technical support and guidance to the team during equipment breakdowns and emergencies.6. Equipment Performance & Reliability: Continuously monitor equipment performance to identify opportunities for improvement. Support initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, reduce breakdowns, and extend equipment lifespan.7. Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in all maintenance activities. Monitor and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all team members follow safe working practices and use personal protective equipment (PPE).8. Continuous Improvement & Cost Control: Identify and implement cost-effective maintenance strategies to reduce repair costs and energy consumption. Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment performance and process efficiency.9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and procurement, to develop and optimize maintenance strategies. Ensure clear communication and coordination between departments for seamless maintenance execution.Education and Experience Bachelor of Education - BEd, Bachelor of Engineering - BE, Diploma with specialization in Mechanical Engineering and experience between 5 - 8 years in roles like Maintenance Specialist, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisors , Maintenance Supervision TechnicianAdditional Proven experience in leading maintenance teams and managing projects. Strong background in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery. Knowledge of mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, HVAC, and electrical/mechanical interfaces.
