Job description

Key accountability (Main purpose of this job):

Reporting to the Technical Officer and Senior Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for maintaining the school's premises in good condition and ensuring the functionality of all systems. This includes overseeing the maintenance and repair of mechanical (air conditioning), electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and other building system.

Responsibilities (Key areas of Responsibilities):

  • Regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems (FCUs, AHUs, Cooling Towers etc.) to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency
  • Routine checks and repairs of electrical installations, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems, to ensure safety and reliability
  • Addressing plumbing issues such as leaks, blockages, and maintenance of water supply and drainage systems to prevent disruptions
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on various building systems, including lift, fire alarms, and security systems, to maintain a safe environment
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce the likelihood of system failures and extend the lifespan of equipment
  • Ensured all work adheres to local safety regulations and standards, and conducting safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazard
  • Quickly responding to maintenance emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure the safety and comfort of students and staff
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for reporting and future reference
  • Working closely with other facility management staff and external contractors as needed to ensure the smooth operation of all building systems
  • Maintain the inventory (e.g. tools and materials) in a tidy and appropriate manner.
  • Carry out any other adhoc tasks as assigned by superior.

Requirements:

  • Nitec in Facility Technology (Aircon) or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in hands on air conditioning maintenance
  • Possess knowledge of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating (including building management system, chiller pump, cooling tower, split unit and VRV unit)
  • Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols
  • Good knowledge in general maintenance processes and methods
  • Good physical condition and strength
