Primary Objective

This role is responsible for the management of major multidiscipline engineering studies and projects.

Management of teams of Project Engineers, Discipline Engineers, Designers, Subconsultants and Subcontractors involved in the development of major projects from conceptual design through to detail design, implementation and commissioning.

Specific Accountabilities

1. Leadership
2. Scope, budget and schedule development
3. Project cost and schedule monitoring, control and analysis
4. Interface management between project teams and subconsultants/subcontractors
5. Planning for quality outcomes
6. Team building
7. Relationship management
8. Quality management
9. Performance reporting
10. Project change control
11. Overall delivery
12. Management and control of health, safety and environmental risks associated with project activities.
13. Development and implementation of initiatives to improve cost effectiveness.
14. Effective management and control of risks through design and installation.
15. Understanding and implementing the requirements of the HSE Regulations Act.
16. Maintaining design integrity and quality within the project team.
17. Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the relevant Quality Assurance system.
18. Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow HSE procedures.
19. Mentoring, coaching and training of subordinates.

Essential Skills / Experience

1. Excellent leadership and communication skills
2. Demonstrable commitment to HSE management in a project environment
3. Working knowledge of industry standard business support systems i.e. project planning packages, cost management systems, ISO9001 quality management systems
4. A high level of customer focus
5. Experience with managing projects involving input from a variety of internal and external sources
6. Relevant engineering degree with a minimum of relevant years experience in building and infrastructure projects in oil and gas industry
7. Sound understanding of applicable local & international engineering standards and codes of practice
8. Eligible for SCE Membership
9. A proven track record in managing major projects with a minimum of relevant years experience as a Project Manager.
