Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented legal professional to provide comprehensive legal support to Zurich Insurance and Takaful entities in Malaysia.

You will play a key role in managing commercial legal issues, insurance-business related matters, and supporting the companies’ strategic initiative. Experience working within the Insurance/Takaful Industry is a distinct advantage. Sound insurance product knowledge and knowledge of the Financial Services Act 2013/ Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 will also be highly valued.

What you'll be doing:

• Provide thorough legal review, drafting and negotiating on a wide variety of commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, terms and conditions, and other binding documents to ensure all business dealings are legally sound and advise on effective mitigation strategies to protect organizational interests.
• Collaborate closely cross-functionally to negotiate agreements to align with both business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Support insurance and takaful product development and product collaterals review.
• Advising on day-to-day legal matters, and ensuring alignment with Zurich’s standards.
• Participate in company projects as assigned, contributing your expertise to broader business initiatives.
• Support initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of legal department operations, including optimizing technology solutions to achieve the same.

What we look for:

• Experience in commercial contract review and negotiation, ideally within an in-house environment
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to translate technical legal language into accessible advice for colleagues at every level.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and legal drafting proficiency
• Capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities
• Agile and adapt well to change, simplifies, takes ownership and embraces learning.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

Qualification/ Experience

Education : Degree in Law

Experience : Minimum 3 years within an in-house legal department.Experience with Insurance / Takaful Industry is preferred.
