Job Responsibilities
- Provide timely, practical, and business-oriented legal advice and opinions to various departments, with a primary focus on real estate and property development matters.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise a wide range of contracts and legal documents, including sale and purchase agreements, tenancy agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Conduct thorough legal research and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Prepare, proofread, and structure various legal documents such as letters, forms, notices, memoranda, and legal instruments.
- Ensure the company’s full compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and manage legal documentation for land transactions and other property-related applications and filings.
- Handle and resolve property-related disputes and legal issues effectively.
- Liaise and coordinate with external legal counsel and advisers on disputes, property transactions, and other legal matters.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with property transactions and development projects.
- Provide legal support to cross-functional teams, ensuring all legal considerations are integrated throughout the property development and contract lifecycle.
Job Requirements
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian law, with the ability to communicate legal concepts clearly and effectively.
- Solid legal research, analytical, problem-solving, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), preferably gained in a law firm specialising in conveyancing, real estate, or corporate/commercial practice, or within an in-house legal department in a related industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent qualification.
