A leading food and nutrition company in Seremban is seeking a skilled operator for their Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP). The role involves monitoring operations to ensure compliance with regulations, performing daily checks, and maintaining equipment. Candidates should have at least 3 years of hands-on WWTP experience, knowledge of environmental regulations, and the ability to work independently. This position may require overtime, and CePIETSO certification is preferred.
Operate, monitor, and maintain the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) to ensure compliance with Industrial Effluent Regulations (IER) 2009.
Perform daily operational checks, record performance data, and conduct wastewater analysis (e.g. pH, COD, MLSS) for each treated effluent batch.
Identify, mitigate, and report any abnormalities or deviations in WWTP operations to the immediate superior.
Ensure all WWTP equipment is properly operated, maintained, and kept in good working condition.
Act as the first point of contact and support the competent person during Department of Environment (DOE) inspections or visits.
Monitor contractors’ performance and safety compliance during preventive and breakdown maintenance works.
Maintain good housekeeping, safety standards, and provide support during emergencies or ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Minimum SPM or higher qualification with at least 3 years of hands‑on experience in Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
CePIETSO certification is an added advantage and strong knowledge of Industrial Effluent Regulations (IER) 2009 is required.
Able to work independently, responsible, self‑motivated, and willing to work long hours or overtime when required.
Experience in planning WWTP maintenance schedules with Engineers and attending to breakdowns or ad‑hoc operational needs.
Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
