A leading insurance firm is seeking an Infrastructure Virtualization Lead in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. The role focuses on ensuring the stability and performance of the organization's on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructure while mentoring a technical team. Candidates should have 15 years of IT experience, significant expertise in virtualization and cloud services, and strong leadership skills. TheInfrastructure Virtualization Leadensures the stability, performance, and security of the organization's on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructure, while driving strategic improvements and mentoring a technical team—ultimately enabling reliable IT operations that support the business’s digital transformation and growth.
Manage Compute & Virtualization Infrastructure: Oversee physical servers (e.g., Dell, HPE) and virtualization platforms like VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and vSphere (vCenter, ESXi).
Operating System Administration: Handle lifecycle management of Windows Server and RHEL, including installation, configuration, hardening, and patching.
Security & Compliance: Ensure infrastructure adheres to corporate security policies and industry best practices.
Hardware Lifecycle Management: Lead procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of server hardware.
Cloud & Hybrid Integration: Manage cloud services (AWS, OCI), hybrid connectivity, VM provisioning, and cloud landing zones.
Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, Ansible) to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Monitoring, Backup & DR: Maintain enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Dynatrace), and ensure backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., NetBackup, Cohesity) are operational and tested.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Lead resolution of major incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, TOGAF, cloud certifications) is a plus.
15 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with a significant portion focused on IT infrastructure with a focus on server administration and virtualization. It will be of strong advantage with Cloud experience and architecture, planning and work on enterprise level capabilities.
7+ years in a senior or lead capacity, demonstrating technical leadership and project management skills.
Proven experience in developing and implementing successful infrastructure capabilities in complex environments.
Deep understanding of various infrastructure domains (cloud computing, networking, storage, compute, virtualization, data centers).
Strong knowledge of cloud service models (IaaS, CaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is highly
Experience with IT financial management (ITFM) or FinOps practices is a significant advantage.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical
