Job summary

A leading financial institution in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Experience Designer to leverage Design Thinking methodologies in transforming complex problems into actionable solutions. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to refine user experiences for digital services. Ideal candidates will have 2 to 6 years of experience in user experience or product design, preferably within financial services, and possess a strong portfolio showcasing their design capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 6 years’ experience as a User Experience Designer or Product Designer.
  • Experience within financial services or other highly regulated industries is an added advantage.
  • Good portfolio of design work (e.g. web app, mobile app, digital services).
  • Experience with design tools: Figma, Sketch.
  • Experience in Agile and SAFe environments, understanding of agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Agile workflow tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Design Thinking methodologies and Product Vision toolkits to design solutions.
  • Lead and collaborate in discovery and vision workshops with stakeholders.
  • Work with designers, product owners, developers to refine user experience.
  • Develop visualizations of the solution and user journey.
  • Conduct UX research including data analysis, user interviews and persona development.
  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and UI screens for various devices.
  • Ensure smooth design hand-offs to developers and support post-implementation.

Overview

As an Experience Designer in the Design Lab, you will leverage your expertise in Design Thinking and Product Vision toolkits to transform complex problem statements into actionable solutions. You will actively participate in and drive conversations with stakeholders through discovery and vision workshops to establish a clear understanding of the problem space and explore potential solutions.

Responsibilities
  • DesignThinking&ProductVision: Utilize Design Thinking methodologies and Product Vision toolkits to navigate complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead and participate in discovery and vision workshops, collaborating with stakeholders to establish a shared understanding of project goals and challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers, product owners, developers, and business users to refine the user experience of products, ensuring they are intuitive and enjoyable to use.
  • Problem Space Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of the problem space to inform design decisions and create effective solutions, driving problem-solution fit.
  • Develop Visualisation of Solution and User Journey: Help business and stakeholders to visualise the solution and user journey. Develop rapid design prototypes of the solutions to validate problem-solution fit, user validation.
  • Quality Focus: Ensure that design work meets high standards of quality, aligning with process and prioritization to deliver high-quality designs for key product areas.
  • This role encompasses User Experience Design, User Interface Design and elements of designing for digital services and enterprise applications.
  • Conduct a thorough UX research which may include activities such as data analysis, user interviews, persona development and running design workshops.
  • Develop a well-structured, comprehensive information architecture/sitemap based on innovative user journeys.
  • Developing wireframes, hi-fi prototypes and high-quality UI screens compatible with a range of devices and screen sizes.
  • Ensure design hand-offs are smooth and developer-friendly. Provide support and validation post implementation with development team.
Qualifications
  • Experience: From 2 to 6 years’ experience as a User Experience Designer or Product Designer. Experience within financial services or other highly regulated industries is an added advantage.
Technical Skills / Knowledge
  • Has a good portfolio of design work (e.g. designing for web app, mobile app and digital services)
  • Experience with design tools, and design testing tools: Figma, Sketch.
  • Experience working in an Agile and SAFe environment; knowledge and understanding of agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Agile workflow tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps.
