Job summary

A leading global scientific instruments company is seeking a Total Rewards Specialist to assist with compensation and benefits processes. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Human Resources, 3-4 years of HR experience, and proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential. This role is based in Selangor, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

As a Total Rewards Specialist, your responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the job infrastructure and the salary ranges maintenance: update salary bands, prepare compensation benchmarking and market analysis under guidance. Support HR Business Partners in job evaluations and benchmarking.
  • Support the annual compensation processes, including goal setting, performance review, merit & bonus cycle.
  • Assist with compensation and benefits survey submissions: gather job data and submit to market survey vendors.
  • Monitor local and global total rewards market trends and regulations, including pay equity laws, pay transparency requirements, and internal company policies.
  • Support the review of benefits, wellness, and recognition programs.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret compensation data to prepare salary-related analyses, dashboards, and reports.
  • Provide guidance to HR Business Partners on total rewards topics.
  • Partner with HRIT and local HR teams to ensure accurate data management and processing. Perform data analysis and clean-ups.
  • Assist with developing communication and training materials for global rewards programs.
  • Collaborate with the Total Rewards team members on global HR projects. Participate in other cross-regional projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3-4 years of experience in Human Resources within international matrix organizations, preferably supporting multiple markets, including the APAC region.
  • Initial experience in compensation & benefits. A strong interest and motivation to further develop expertise in the Total Rewards field.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Able to work independently and in a remote team.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Readiness to occasional attend late meetings to support cross-regional collaboration.
