Job Purpose

The Subject Teacher is responsible to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfil their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the Secondary Principal.

Key Responsibilities

• To teach KSSM subject as stated above.
• Engaging young minds and helping them explore the world.
• Nurturing children and teenagers to grow holistically.
• Guiding students to explore academic content and apply it in the real world.
• Prepare test papers and revision papers to prepare students for their exams.
• Managing students in a class.
• Planning and executing CCA programmes & activities.
• Creating lesson plans in compliance with school curriculum, administering homework and school projects, grading the work, and giving appropriate feedback to the students.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management.

Job and Person Specification

Essential Specification (Must-have)

• Possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Education/Teaching or equivalent.
• Strong commitment and passion for education and concern for students’ welfare.
• PC literate and able to use multi-media resources in the classroom.
• Highly motivated, full of initiative, disciplined and responsible.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in written and verbal English and BM.
• Excellent Subject knowledge in the subject taught.

Desirable Specification (Added advantage)

• Relevant teaching certification (eg CICTL, DICTL, PGCE).
• At least two (2) years of teaching experience in the respective subject in Government or Private school.
• Ability to show evidence of further professional development.
• Ability to teach outside of specialist area.
• Ability to use and understand assessment data.
