Job summary

A leading semiconductor company in Malaysia seeks a Staff Engineer for Technology Development specializing in Silicon Failure Analysis. Staff Engineer, Technology Development (Silicon Failure Analysis)

Perform package and device analysis on test failure from new technology development, product qualification, production and RMA.

Define the FA flow for each FA case.

Generate FA report and assist teams for root-causing defect/s.

Develop new FA processes, methods and capability for new products and new technologies.

Technical know-how, able to structure project plans and manage cost-effective execution of tasks.

Maintain lab in quality system compliance.

Lead others within a group for key technical projects and program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform package and device analysis on test failure from new technology development, product qualification, production and RMA.
  • Define the FA flow for each FA case.
  • Generate FA report and assist teams for root-causing defect/s.
  • Develop new FA processes, methods and capability for new products and new technologies.
  • Technical know-how, able to structure project plans and manage cost-effective execution of tasks.

  • Lead others within a group for key technical projects and program.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree/master/PhD in electrical & Electronic or Material Engineering with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in failure analysis
  • Subject matter expert in FA instruments and able to apply advanced technical principles to complete complex tasks, including chemical decapsulation, curve tracer analysis, optical microscopes, OFA, FIB and TEM.
  • Familiar with package and device analysis methodology
  • Familiar with semiconductor and SMT assembly process and technology
  • Familiar with memory product technology and structure
  • Understand memory product test process and methodology
  • Strong memory IC de-processing skills

Preferred

  • Previous electrical FA experience in IC or memory devices is preferred.
  • Technical report writing and presentation skills, ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems.
Skills
  • Good communication, presentation skills and teamwork spirit.
  • Fluent in English speaking, reading and technical FA report writing
