A leading technology company is seeking a Staff Engineer in Data Science to focus on supply chain optimization. The ideal candidate will design predictive models, analyze large datasets, and collaborate with various teams. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering is required, along with 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis and production planning. This role offers the chance to leverage advanced analytics for operational improvements and decision-making enhancement.
We are looking for a Staff Engineer in Data Science to join our team and lead initiatives focused on production scheduling, supply chain, and inventory optimization. This role will be instrumental in applying advanced analytics to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making across global supply chain functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and implement predictive models to optimize inventory levels, reduce excess stock, and improve service levels.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production planner, supply chain, operations, and finance to identify and solve business challenges using data-driven approaches.
Analyze large-scale datasets to uncover actionable insights related to demand forecasting, supplier performance, and logistics.
Develop and maintain dashboards and analytical tools to support real-time supply chain decisions.
Contribute to scheduling and production planning systems development while expanding focus into broader supply chain domains.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, or related field.
5 years of experience in data science or analytics, with a strong focus on production planning, supply chain or inventory optimization.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Plotly Dash, streamlit, Power BI, Tableau).
Experience with machine learning frameworks and optimization algorithms.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
PREFERRED:
Experience in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain planning tools.
Knowledge of simulation modeling and scenario analysis.
SKILLS:
Python Programming:Advanced coding skills for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
Hands-on experience with Google OR-Tools, PuLP, and preferably Gurobi or CPLEX.
Strong understanding of linear programming, integer programming, and constraint optimization.
Data Science & Analytics: Data wrangling, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
Ability to create and manage Docker containers for deployment on servers or edge devices.
Familiarity with Docker Compose and container orchestration concepts.
Skilled in creating and delivering impactful presentations for quarterly reports.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Python visualization libraries).
Collaboration:Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
