Overview

The SRD Team Lead is responsible for leading the Space, Range & Display (SRD) department, covering four specialist areas – Food Display, Non-Food Display, Space & Floor Planning, and Feature Space & Range Operations. The role ensures that all merchandising strategies are customer-focused, operationally efficient, and commercially effective. This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful floorplans and planograms, optimize space utilization, and drive continuous improvement across stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to the SRD function.
  • Develop and implement strategies that align with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Represent SRD in senior leadership discussions to influence merchandising and space decisions.
• Space, Range & Display Management
  • Oversee the development of accurate and effective planograms and floorplans.
  • Ensure space optimization across store formats to maximize customer experience and commercial performance.
  • Drive the use of innovative merchandising techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Monitor industry and competitor trends to maintain best-in-class retail standards.
• Team Development
  • Coach and mentor team members to achieve high performance.
  • Support capability building through training, feedback, and development plans.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Commercial, Property Dev, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide expert input for range reviews, store development, and space optimization projects.
  • Ensure all SRD decisions are objective and in the best interest of customers and the business.
