Job summary

A leading local company in Selangor is seeking a Buyer to source and negotiate with local and overseas suppliers for home furnishing products. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree with 2–5 years of relevant experience. Strong negotiation and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and knowledge of retail trends. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required. This role offers the opportunity to influence product assortments and manage supplier relationships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–5 years of buying/sourcing experience, preferably in home furnishing, furniture, décor, or retail industry.
  • Familiar with sourcing from local and/or overseas suppliers is an advantage.
  • Required language(s): English and Mandarin, both spoken and written.

  • Conduct cost analysis, price negotiation, and margin control to meet business targets
  • Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings to identify new product opportunities
  • Coordinate with merchandising, marketing, operations, and logistics teams to ensure timely product launches
  • Manage supplier relationships, quality standards, and product compliance requirements
  • Oversee purchase orders, delivery timelines, and inventory planning
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or any Art Studies.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of buying/sourcing experience, preferably in home furnishing, furniture, décor, or retail industry
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and cost management skills
  • Familiar with sourcing from local and/or overseas suppliers (e.g. China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, etc. is an advantage)
  • Good understanding of retail trends, consumer behavior, and product lifecycle
  • Able to work independently, detail-oriented, and results-driven
  • Required language(s): English and Mandarin. For both Speaking and Writing. Mandarin is an advantage.
