Role Overview

As a Software Engineer II on the FC Mobile team, you’ll help shape the foundation that powers the world’s most popular mobile football experience. You’ll design and build large-scale, high-performance backend systems that enable real-time gameplay and live features for millions of players. You’ll work closely with designers, engineers, testers, and product owners to deliver reliable and scalable features. This role reports to the Lead Engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Develop & maintain complex backend systems ensuring scalability, performance, and reliable features for worldwide gamers, while adhering to standard best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete feature development while conducting backend, deployment pipelines, and backend security best practices.
  • Work with QV testers to find defects and conduct in-game testing, public beta testing, and acceptance testing of the official release version.
  • Responsible for upkeeping live service KPIs to ensure minimal downtime and stable live operations.
  • Understand and align coding to security and data standards to ensure code quality and integrity is well-maintained.
  • Ensure that code written is unit tested and well documented.
  • Assist the lead engineer in creating technical specifications and software architecture documents.
  • Communicate with superiors promptly about the progress and risks of the project.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of NodeJS or related stack with strong debugging skills.
  • Production experience with complex NodeJS systems using Typescript and understanding API communication with multiple backend systems.
  • Excellent in English or Chinese.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
