A certified competent Occupational Safety & Health Officer from NIOSH or related approved institution.

At least 5 year(s) working experiences, preferably in a construction based.

Must possess valid SSS competency (Yellow Book).

Responsibility

• The Safety and Health Officer is to perform duties of SHO as specified in the OSHA 1994 and OSH (SHO Regulation) regulation 18, 19 and 20. The Safety and Health including statutory laws and regulations in relation to all activities in the project.
• To coordinate all the Safety and Health activities in the project site.
• Conduct HIRADC and Job Safety Analysis and take preventive action in safety and health matters.
• To monitor and supervise the activities of safety and health program and to provide supervision and coordinate the activities of the Site Safety Supervisors.
• To maintain records concerning Safety and Health matters of the Project.
• To conduct investigations on accidents, incidents and near misses.
• To conduct inspections and audits as required by the Safety and Health program.
• Liaison with sub-contractors on all safety and health matters.
• Plan safety into all daily work activities.
• To verify PTW.
• To conduct daily site patrol and weekly site inspection to ensure the health and safety measures are taken.
• To conduct toolbox and train the supervisors and engineers for conducting toolbox.
• As a leader of the toolbox.
• To organize and conduct training regarding safety and health (ie: Safety Induction).
• To review HIRARC/JSA developed by Engineer and sub-contractor.
