Job summary

A construction management firm in Malacca is seeking a qualified individual for a project management role focusing on safety and quality in construction. Responsibilities include preparing safety reports, managing site activities, and ensuring compliance with HSE regulations. Candidates should have a degree in relevant fields, experience in building projects, and skills in AutoCAD. This position requires effective communication and supervisory abilities to lead projects successfully.

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years working experience in Building & Construction projects.
  • Minimum must possess a valid yellow book.
  • Good knowledge in ISO 9001:2015 is an added advantage.

  • Prepare daily and periodic reports relevant to safety and occupational health.
  • Manage and coordinate all site activities to ensure smooth implementation of the project.

Job description

Prepare daily and periodic reports relevant to safety and occupational health

To liaise with relevant authority for submission and approvals

To obtain licences, permits in compliance with current construction industry practices and requirements

Ensure full trace‑ability to personnel, processes and equipment

Initiate necessary remedial actions to maintain the project on schedule

Need to be able to read construction drawings and have AutoCAD knowledge

Supervise proper handover of completed project to clients

Supervise personnel concerned with material handling to understand the handling methods, procedures and equipment

Keep track record of vehicle / machinery / tool list and periodic maintenance record

Manage and co‑ordinate all site activities to ensure smooth implementation of the project within schedule and quality

Continuously monitor project quality to be in conformance with specification and requirements

Report to the Project Manager on progress of safety works and resources

Attend company weekly meeting to review project progress, schedule and quality, cost incurred to‑date, discuss and resolve any issues highlighted pertaining to the projects

Responsible for daily site safety activity reporting to Project Manager

Ensure toolbox meeting is conducted within your section every morning before start of any site activity

Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures

Implement and enforce safety practices on site

Coordinate all issues regarding hazardous materials or waste

Perform any other duties as instructed from time to time by the Project Manager / Project Director and Management

Requirements
  • Degree / Diploma or equivalent in construction management or building management or architecture or engineering (C&S or M&E), quantity surveying or related field
  • 3 – 5 years working experience in Building & Construction projects
  • Minimum must possess a valid yellow book
  • Accountable, punctual, good attitude, initiative, pro‑active and well disciplined
  • Good technical knowledge
  • Able to read drawings and specifications and understand other technical aspects of construction
  • Capable of supervising a team of workers, arranging and monitoring work at construction site
  • Ability to work independently, self‑motivated with good interpersonal and communication skill
  • Good knowledge in ISO 9001:2015 is an added advantage
