A leading jewelry retailer seeks a Training Manager to oversee employee training and development within the organization. The ideal candidate should possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or relevant fields, alongside a minimum of 5 years of experience in training roles. Key responsibilities include developing training materials, managing in-house training programs, and coordinating talent assessments to align with business goals. Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Melayu is essential for effective communication in this role.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify retail training needs.
Organize and oversee in-house training for different employee levels.
Create training schedules and choose appropriate methods.
Shape the learning framework by developing or evaluating programs.
Manage resources for training development and delivery.
Provide training in selling skills and customer service aligned with sales cycles and priorities.
Create tailored training programs for retail employees.
Develop training materials, including slides, guides, handouts, activities, and evaluation tools.
Utilize effective teaching methods for employee learning.
Procure educational aids and materials as necessary.
Assess training effectiveness and suggest improvements to address gaps.
Coordinate talent reviews with leaders to match talents with business goals.
Regularly assess talent development and progress through discussions.
Align talent development with future skill needs and build a talent pipeline.
Plan and organize yearly engagement activities to boost employee motivation.
Strategize and implement job enrichment and job enlargement initiatives to increase job satisfaction and strengthen employee retention.
Analytical skills for assessing training effectiveness and making data-driven decisions.
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory training requirements in the industry.
Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Studies / Administration / Management / Education or relevant fields. Candidate without Bachelor’s Degree must have equivalent qualification such as professional certification in relevant field.
At least 5 years working experience in the learning and development / trainer role. Experience in jewelry retail, luxury retail, or retail customer service training would be highly preferred.
HRD Corp certified and accredited trainer would be highly preferred. Experience in teaching or training adults would be an added advantage if not certified and accredited.
Good command of English and Bahasa Melayu in both written and verbal communication. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to develop training courses and relevant course materials based on training needs / competency gaps.
Ability to execute various learning interventions, for example on-the-job training, classroom live training and remote / virtual sessions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office includes Excel, Words and Power Point.
Well-organized with strong time management skills, able to multitask and work under minimal supervision.
Willing to travel extensively within the country on a regular basis.
