Senior Software Manager – Functional (Independent Verification and Validation Dept, Solution Service Delivery Div)

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronic & Electrical Engineering.

Professional Qualifications

• Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)
• Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE-FL)
• Certified Tester Advance Level (CTAL)

Work Experience

• More than 10 years’ experience in functional testing.
• Experience with Web application testing.
• Experience with Software Test Process and Practices.
• Experience in automation tools such as Katalon, etc.

Technical Skills

• Background and experience as a Developer and/or System Analyst is a good asset.
• Experience in system functional testing is essential.
• Experience in other software testing areas such as static and non-functional testing.
• Experience in software automation testing would be beneficial.
• Exposure to ISO 29119-4 Test Techniques is an added advantage.

Soft Skills

• Able to manage resources and work under pressure, handling tight time scales with demonstrable multitasking and delivering projects on schedule.
• Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
• Process knowledge in ISO 9000/17025 is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee subordinates planning, development, and execution of various testing strategies (functional web, performance, browser compatibility) and provide solutions as needed.
• Lead, develop, mentor, and coach a group of testers assigned to projects.
• Interact with Director, Project Manager, Program Manager, Developers, and Architects to discuss and resolve defects.
• Strive toward automation opportunities through the usage or creation of new automation tools and systems.
• Rank and rate projects under test against other similar world‑class products.
• Perform detailed root cause analysis of issues to identify anomalies in code, network, and databases prior to raising Problem Reports (PR).
• Define solid testing strategies in advance (Functional, Performance, Usability, Benchmarking) related to the products being tested.
• Work with the project/application team to ensure test environment setup complies with test and customer requirements.
• Accountable for assigned project deliverables, including test reporting (statistics, measurements, etc.) to the reporting manager when required.
• Perform continuous risk analysis assessment on the product under test based on test coverage, defect history, and other parameters.
• Actively contribute to ISO 17025 implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the quality management system.
• Identify departures from QMS or procedures related to performing test activities and initiate actions to prevent or minimize them.
• Identify the right person within the team to resolve issues and guide/supervise team members.

Job Purpose / Benefits

• The candidate is expected to be involved in the testing and management part of the whole Software Development Life Cycle: Requirements Analysis and Gathering, Product Design Review, Software Development Review, Software Testing and Deployment. This includes managing day‑to‑day operations and resource management, and leading a group of test and senior test engineers in performing tasks and deliverables as assigned via projects.
