JOB SUMMARY

BurdaLuxury Malaysia is seeking a culturally attuned and proactive Senior Social Media Executive to bring the region’s best in lifestyle, culture, food and travel to life across digital platforms. This role suits someone with a strong editorial instinct, creative flair, and a genuine curiosity about living the good life. You will play a key role in curating and creating thoughtful, engaging content that strengthens the brand’s social presence, connects with our audience, and supports overall performance goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own day-to-day social media management across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, with secondary platforms including TikTok and X
  • Lead content ideation, planning, scheduling, and execution, including social-first layouts, templates, and captions aligned with brand and editorial direction
  • Create, adapt, and edit short-form content posts, stories, reels using tools such as Canva, CapCut, Mojo, InShot, or similar
  • Monitor and interpret basic performance metrics to inform content optimisation and data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate closely with editorial, growth, and production teams to amplify print, digital, and campaign-led content
  • Manage live and on-ground event coverage, including real-time updates and post-event recaps
  • Confidently appear on camera when required and support the development of video briefs for higher-quality social content
  • Stay informed on cultural, lifestyle, and social media trends, competitor activity, and emerging platforms to proactively contribute ideas
  • Support day-to-day community engagement and audience interaction across platforms
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years of experience in social media, content creation and digital media
  • A strong passion for pop culture, lifestyle, food, events and luxury brands
  • Educational background in Digital Marketing, Media, Communications or related fields preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and comfortable in UK English copywriting
  • A passion for writing engaging and creative social media content
  • Ability to achieve quick turnaround of quality video content Canva, Mojo, Capcut, InShot or similar tools
  • Curious, quick to learn and excited to experiment with social-first content formats
  • Team player with a positive attitude and great communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative media environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Immediate availability will be an advantage
