A leading tyre distributor in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior Purchaser to manage the procurement of tyres across multiple brands. The role involves negotiating with suppliers, maintaining stock levels, and analyzing demand trends. Candidates should have at least 3 years of purchasing experience, be willing to travel within Southeast Asia, and be available to work on Saturdays. This position offers a dynamic environment and the opportunity to contribute to a growing business.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of basic purchasing experience.
  • Willingness to undertake quarterly business trips within Southeast Asia or across Malaysia.
  • Able to commit to working on Saturdays (8.30am-6pm).

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase tyres for the variety of brands carried by the company.
  • Negotiate prices, rebates, payment terms, and agreements with suppliers.
  • Analyze demand and make predictions to place orders based on sales trends and seasonal needs.
  • Manage stock levels to ensure availability while controlling cash flow and storage space.
  • Maintain a balanced inventory that meets demand and supports sales targets.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to support promotions and meet market demand.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing shifts, and competitor activity.
  • Review and evaluate supplier performance and resolve any supply or service issues.
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsible for purchasing tyres across multiple brands, ensuring sufficient stock, competitive pricing, and strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Source and purchase tyres for the variety of brands carried by the company.

Negotiate prices, rebates, payment terms, and agreements with suppliers.

Analyze demand and make predictions to place orders based on sales trends and seasonal needs.

Manage stock levels to ensure availability while controlling cash flow and storage space.

Maintain a balanced inventory that meets demand and supports sales targets, sometimes including parts stock management.

Collaborate with Sales teams to support promotions and meet market demand.

Monitor market trends, pricing shifts, and competitor activity to make informed purchasing decisions.

Review and evaluate supplier performance and resolve any supply or service issues.

Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
