Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a distributed purchasing team of 9-10 buyers across Singapore and Johor, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with business goals.
- Manage 3 part-time tactical buyers in Singapore, 6 buyers at the Johor plant providing remote procurement support.
- Provide strong leadership through coaching, performance management, and succession planning, building a capable and high-performing team.
- Drive purchasing optimization and organizational transformation initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency, responsiveness, and overall service quality.
- Partner closely with plant operations, category managers, and regional stakeholders to ensure alignment of procurement activities with strategic objectives.
- Oversee end-to-end purchasing operations for both direct and indirect materials, ensuring achievement of cost, quality, and delivery performance targets.
- Supervise the indirect procurement function in Johor, ensuring consistent processes and alignment with global indirect procurement leadership and standards.
- Maintain compliance and process standardization across all indirect procurement activities.
- Leverage SAP to manage procurement execution, spend analysis, and performance reporting.
- Utilize RR/Winchill systems to generate data-driven insights, monitor key metrics, and prioritize procurement activities effectively.
- Ensure data accuracy, visibility, and transparency across regional procurement operations.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that drive cost savings, supplier performance, and operational excellence.
- Support change management and digital transformation programs to modernize and optimize procurement operations.
- Ensure full compliance with internal controls, corporate governance, and ethical and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, including 3-5 years in a leadership role managing multi-site teams.
- Proven expertise in SAP (mandatory).
- Hands-on experience using RR/Winchill and analytics tools for reporting and prioritization.
- Strong background in direct and indirect purchasing within a manufacturing or technology-driven industry.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through organizational transformation and process optimization.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
