Your role at Clorox
This role is responsible for supporting the HR Lead in SEA by providing all baseline HR operations support and execution, specifically:
- To provide 1st level HR support and execution of payroll for employees and managers in line with relevant controls, legal and Clorox standards, including managing payroll with outsourced vendors in SEA, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR data systems support (Workday).
- Support regional projects and initiatives, including engagement programs and policy implementation.
- Execute HR projects when allocated depending on the level of complexity.
- Work as part of a team of two to enable all required annual and long‑term people objectives to be delivered in SEA in line with IGNITE and PMU objectives.
In this role, you will
HR Operations
- Oversee key employee lifecycle activities including onboarding processes, probation tracking, offboarding and exit interviews.
- Manage all HR administration including maintaining personnel files, preparing HR letters and contracts, Concur HR approvals, headcount reporting, new starter packs.
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition to support seamless onboarding of talent.
- Support HR Manager and act as 2IC when relevant.
- Maintain and act as the Subject Matter Expert for HRIS (Workday) to employees and managers.
- Support and facilitate Learning & Development and IDEA activities.
- Manage and act as point of contact for employee benefits/programs and advise/coordinate as necessary (e.g. SSS/HDMF/PhilHealth, HMO, Retirement Trust, Mercer/Marsh Benefits MY and PH, Clorox global benefits, Payroll Outsourced Vendors).
Compliance
- Have a detailed understanding of HR Policies and Procedures and advise accordingly. Review and update HR Policies and Guidelines for SEA in line with audit requirements.
- Coordinate relevant HR/Payroll Audit activities in a timely and compliant manner.
Provide HR Advice across the SEA Region
- Provide high-quality advice to managers and employees on HR related matters to enable effective and compliant management of people matters in line with company policies, values and employment laws.
- Partner with people managers and leaders on agreed people-related matters to achieve performance standards and meet business and strategic imperatives.
- Manage low to mid-level Employment Relations matters to successful completion compliant to employment laws and company principles.
- Advise on Compensation matters in conjunction with Compensation consultants demonstrating a strong understanding of Global Compensation Guidelines and Total Rewards principles.
Manage end to end Payroll via outsource providers
- Manage payroll for SEA through an outsourced provider – preparing instructions, checking vendor outputs and authorizing appropriately.
- Ensure all payroll processes executed meet audit requirements and are documented appropriately.
- Complete end of month activities including sending payroll journals, Finance reporting and completing all disbursements (Government Related Benefits (SSS/HDMF/PhilHealth, Tax related tasks including but not limited to BIR 2316 etc) in a timely manner.
- Complete quarterly and end of year financial reporting and activities in a timely manner and meeting all compliance and audit requirements.
- Maintain and act as SME on leave management system i.e. ESP (currently via VB Powered Excel Sheet).
- Manage compliant and timely completion of payroll tax monthly and annual activities with outsourced providers.
Support HR Projects
- Support with HR Manager SEA and where allocated, lead HR projects to deliver successful outcomes in line with business and strategic requirements, employment laws and employee engagement.
- Support high level or critical Employment Relations matters when allocated by HR Manager.
What we look for
Years and Type of Experience
- Candidate will have 5-8 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience with outsourced payroll processes and vendors.
Education Level/Degree
- Bachelor degree or diploma equivalent, majoring in Human Resources preferred (alternatively, majoring in Business Management).
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian (and/or Philippines) employment law and HR practices. Experience handling Employee Relations cases and Transformation Programs and HR Project and Change Management experience advantageous.
- Experience in managing outsourced payroll activities in Malaysia and the Philippines.
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to facilitate and train small groups.
- Ability to handle all information in a confidential manner.
- Ability to interact with employees and management at all levels within the organization and interact effectively virtually.
