Job Description

OVERVIEW

  • Cost analysis, target costing, margin analysis and tracking of cost of underlying activities.
  • Update standard costs in bill of material (BOM) and review standard & actual costs.
  • Coordinate Inventory taking.
  • Month End closing and preparation of reports.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in a cost accounting system updates.
  • Review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate physical inventory taking.
  • Investigate & coordinate reconciliation of cycle counting variances and resolve issues with process owners.
  • Assist in setting up the manufacturing costing and stock valuation method in accordance with accounting policies.
  • Verifying the bill of material (BOM)and performing validation on the monthly manufacturing costing data
  • Update standard costs in bill of material (BOM) and review standard & actual costs for inaccuracies.
  • Review production overhead and variances to ensure accuracy of product costing.
  • Assist in product margins analysis and cost centres/plants.
  • Report on periodic variances and their causes.
  • Ensure all category stock movement and ending balance tally with accounting inventory ledger account.
  • Review reports prepared by junior executives.
  • Attend auditors’ queries.
  • Any other duties or tasks as assigned by superior.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Professionalism Qualification, i.e. ACCA or CIMA or its equivalent
