Job summary

A leading international financial services company in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Compliance Officer to oversee data privacy compliance and lead governance initiatives. This role requires at least 5 years of experience in compliance or legal, ideally with data protection certifications. You will work closely with legal, risk, and IT teams to align data handling practices with regulations across multiple jurisdictions. Drive training and awareness programs that strengthen a data protection culture within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified (ideally in Law) with recognised data protection certifications such as CIPP, CIPT, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in compliance, legal, audit, or risk, with strong exposure to data privacy regulations across EU and key APAC jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • Proven background in policy development, compliance training, and preferably experience within financial or insurance institutions.
