Senior Administrator, Securities Lending Operations

RBC Investor & Treasury Services Malaysia is a processing center of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones. The country employs a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across time zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Securities Lending transactions are fully secured by acceptable collateral and minimum margin requirements, while ensuring that all elements of risk and compliance align with contractual, RBC IS policy and regulatory requirements.

You will be supporting the UK region; working hours would be between 3 pm to 12 am or 4 pm to 1 am. Flexibility is required to support business needs.

What will you do?
  • The Collateral Management Senior Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the Securities Lending business by ensuring accurate and timely margining, mitigating counterparty and operational risk, and maintaining strong controls over collateral activities. This position requires a strong understanding of margin processes, market regulations, and collateral operations within a lending environment.
  • Oversee and manage Securities Lending operational activity across multiple markets to ensure the highest levels of performance are achieved.
  • Perform asset valuations on loan and collateral positions to ensure RBC IS and its clients are protected.
  • Develop and implement changes to collateral procedures and monitor acceptability of specific collateral portfolios based on risk quality, liquidity, marketability, concentration limits and diversification limits.
  • Manage policy adherence and risk monitoring functions.
  • Monitor all system records for collateral transactions to ensure integrity of balances.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate actions related to Securities Lending operations.
  • Manage relationships with counterparties, internal trading desks and Securities Lending teams.
  • Complete investigations, analysis, and solution implementation where applicable.
  • Ensure high standards of operation, risk, and relationship management within the group.
  • Ensure timely escalation to Management of any situation where Securities Lending is outside set Risk Policies, outlining mitigation and recommendations for changes if necessary.
  • Develop technical expertise and perform testing for critical and strategic projects for both Operations and Product Development.
  • Support business initiatives—including collateral optimization strategies and the impact of new product launches (e.g., Fixed Income, Equities, Mutual Funds) on operational processes.
  • Improve the risk profile and efficiency of the group through continuous efforts to identify and recommend changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate closely with Front Office, Client Services, and Risk teams to address and resolve margin call issues or discrepancies promptly.

  • Review and track all negative impact on both RBC IS and the client, monitoring trends and taking necessary corrective action to manage associated risk levels.
