Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
• 1 – 3 years in accounts receivable and project accounting experience.
• Fluent in both oral and written English.

Responsibilities

• Update bank transactions daily into accounting systems.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Notify Finance group upon payment received.
• Maintain accounts receivable customer files.
• Monitor customer account details for irregularities.
• Prepare monthly staff claims and record entries.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
• Maintain record and enter all journal entries.
• Update general payment voucher to accounting systems.
• Reconciliation of fixed assets schedule.
• Perform other assigned duties.

About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Account Executive to join our dynamic finance team at Khean Seng Engineering Sdn Bhd in Simpang Ampat Penang. In this full‑time role, you will play a crucial part in the company's financial accounting and reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information to support strategic decision‑making.

Senior Account Executive Responsibilities:

• Update bank transactions daily once payment is received into the bank book & accounting systems to offset with the customer’s record/ledger.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies with customer by issuing Credit Note & Debit Note, if any.
• Notify the payment received to QS, BDM and Finance group upon payment received.
• Maintain & fill accounts receivable customer files and records such as sales invoices and official receipt or bank in slips.
• Monitor customer account details for non‑payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities by sending debtor statements to the customer by project basis in monthly (C.C. to QS and BDM), such as 1st of the month & ensure payment is received as agreed payment terms.
• Prepare monthly staff claims and record entries & checking for accuracy of documentation according to payment SOP.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
• Maintain record and enter all journal entries into the accounting systems such as depreciation, prepayment, accrual purchase, WIP and etc.
• Update general payment voucher to accounting systems.
• Reconciliation of fixed assets schedule in Excel with accounting system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Senior Account Executive Requirements:

Education

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.

Working Experience

• 1 – 3 years in accounts receivable and project accounting experience.

Technical & Professional Knowledge

• English – fluent in both oral and written.
• Mandarin / Bahasa Malaysia – fluent in both spoken and written.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable.
• Knowledge of office administration and procedures.
• Proficient in SQL computer software.
• Knowledge of general accounting principals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
