Job summary

A accounting firm is seeking experienced accounting professionals to handle full sets of accounts, including GL, AP, AR, and bank reconciliation in Port Klang, Malaysia. Candidates should possess a diploma in finance and a minimum of 5 years of experience, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and preferably Mandarin is required. This role involves preparing payment vouchers, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring timely account reconciliations. Knowledge of marine industry accounting is an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, able to work independently.
• Communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in marine industry is a plus.

Job description

Overview

To perform daily accounting operations, handling full set of accounts includes GL, AP, AR, Bank Reconciliation, Petty Cash and Staff Claims.

Prepare payment voucher & online banking payment, liaise with supplier.

Responsible for timely maintenance and reconcile account payable, account receivable intercompany account.

Reconciles the project/department's accounting activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Issue project invoicing and costing listing.

Monitoring and updating of bank balances and records, review, compile and reconcile all intercompany payments and collections.

Responsible for issuing various invoices and filing taxes. Compilation of related vouchers, reports, data, and archive management.

To support month end, quarterly and year-end financial closing and reporting.

Responsible to ensure collections from account receivables and debtors are in a timely manner (Credit Control).

To handle daily accounting functions and monthly closing activities including preparation and processing of month end journals.

To prepare month-end reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts, expenses and development expenditure.

Motivate and coach team members, provide support as needed for them to grow in their roles.

Perform other ad hoc assignment as and when required.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.
• Professional certification from LCCI/ACCA/CPA is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, can work independently.
• Communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia & Mandarin is an added advantage.
• High analytical and good problem-solving skills
• Knowledge and experience in marine industry is an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills, hands-on and positive work attitude.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office program.
• Team player, proactive, have personal responsibility, and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• SST and Tax declaration knowledge.
