Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with MFRS/IFRS.

Job description

The Senior Finance Executive plays an important role in driving the financial health and sustainability of the organization and reports the financial position of the company and its subsidiaries to the Management Team.

Job Description
  • Financial Reporting Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with MFRS/IFRS and relevant statutory requirements. Review and analyse financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Budget Preparation & Financial Forecasting Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide analysis for management decision-making.

  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Supervise supplier invoice processing, payments, and collections. Ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • General Ledger Management Oversee the preparation and reconciliation of general ledger entries. Ensure journal accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management Monitor cash flow position, prepare cash flow projections, and optimise liquidity. Liaise with banks regarding financial transactions, facilities and reconciliations.

  • Taxation & Compliance Assist in preparing tax computations and filings (corporate tax, SST, withholding tax, etc.). Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, audit requirements and company policies for HQ and subsidiaries.

  • Audit & Internal Controls Liaise with external and internal auditors during audit processes. Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard assets of HQ and subsidiaries.

  • Payroll Reconciliation Work with the Human Resources Department to verify payroll, statutory contributions and other related financial matters.

  • System & Process Improvement Support the implementation of accounting systems, automation initiatives and process improvements.

  • Team Supervision & Development Supervise and guide accountants/account clerks in their daily tasks. Provide training and support to enhance departmental capability.

  • Management Support Provide financial insights, cost analysis, and business performance reports to support strategic decision-making.

  • Relationship & Communication Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and data accuracy.

  • Other Duties Perform ad-hoc tasks or special projects as assigned by the Manager/Head of Department.

Required Competencies
  • In-depth knowledge of MFRS/IFRS, taxation and financial regulations in Malaysia.

  • Ability to plan and execute tax planning as well as fulfill annual tax obligations for the company and its subsidiaries.

  • Highly proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SQL) and Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Assist in training, guiding, and supervising the finance team to enhance work efficiency.

  • Ability to work under pressure with a high level of accuracy.

  • High integrity, results-oriented and able to perform effectively under pressure.
