A leading chemical company in Malaysia is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead strategy execution and enhance customer relationships. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Degree in Chemistry or Business Administration, along with 5-7 years of experience in the chemical industry. Key responsibilities include identifying key decision-makers, managing distributors, and improving customer satisfaction through effective relationship building.
Lead all aspects of new business development activities, including strategy development & tactical execution, setting account goals and objectives, and driving efforts to achieve them.
Identifying key decision makers & developing strong relationships that support retention and translate into new revenue opportunities, and programmes to retain and grow existing accounts.
Act as the primary point of contact between the company and key customers, implement plans aimed at business retention, and improve customer satisfaction.
Understand and keep track of changing key customer needs and business environments to ensure the most appropriate support is provided to fulfil key customers’ needs, and the information is used to adjust our tactical plans.
To manage distributors and lead/guide them to achieve key deliverables.
To liaise with internal stakeholders to maximise sales opportunities.
An ideal candidate should possess a minimum Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering with 5 – 7 years in the Chemical industry. Alternatively, a Degree in Business Administration with an affinity and understanding of the chemical/technical business environment.
Exposure to handling clients from different cultural backgrounds.
Exposure to supply chain management is a must.
Experience in the Oleochemical or related industry is an added advantage.
A candidate who has an engineering/production background is encouraged to apply.
Sales negotiation - able to enhance values for the company.
Ability to influence and successfully lead in a fast-paced environment.
Global savvy, have an international frame of mind and awareness of cultural diversity.
