A leading engineering firm in Malaysia is seeking a Junior Executive Engineer specializing in Environmental, Safety and Health to manage safety procedures at the site. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain safety policies, conduct risk assessments, and support training programs. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Candidates with knowledge of Malaysian OSHA regulations will be preferred. This position emphasizes problem-solving and interpersonal skills while promoting a strong safety culture.
Design, plan or perform engineering duties in the prevention, control and remediation of safety, health and environment hazards for the site.
Work closely with Project Manager to manage and maintain a good and acceptable standard for safety, health and environmental management at the site.
Develop, implement, and maintain safety and health policies, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and promoting safety culture.
Conduct workplace risk assessments, inspections and investigations in accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring timely corrective actions.
Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure all incoming materials, in-process activities, and final products meet quality specifications and clients' expectations.
Maintain safety and quality documentation, reports, and reference materials such as drawings, specifications and standards.
Lead investigation on non conformance issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Analyze quality & safety performance data (non-conformance, claims, audits) to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Support training and awareness program to strengthen quality and safety culture across departments.
Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Professional Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Safety and Health) or equivalent.
Preferably Junior Executive specialized in Environmental, Safety and Health) Engineer or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant working experience in the similar role.
Proven experience in implementing and maintaining Safety and Health, Quality and Environmental System.
Knowledge of Malaysian OSHA Acts and Regulations & industry best practices.
Good command of written and oral English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Problem solving abilities for investigating incidents and developing solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and people management skills.
Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative.
Yellow Book Holder (Registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH) is an added advantage but not always required.
