Job summary

A rubber manufacturing company located in Johor Bahru is seeking a Safety Officer to implement and maintain health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will conduct risk assessments, support OHS policies, and prepare reports on accident occurrences. Candidates should have a Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, proven experience as a safety officer, and at least 2 years in a similar role. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this position.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures.
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.

Job description
Responsibilities
  1. 3. Implement and maintain health and safety standards.
  2. 4. Work with operation and Hod individual department to set up process for company safety policies.
  3. 5. Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
  4. 6. Conduct refreshment training and internal training needs for all employees to ensure follow the safety law and regulations.
  5. 7. Support the development of OHS policies and programs
  6. 8. Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
  7. 9. Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
  8. 10. Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
  9. 11. Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g not using protective equipment)
  10. 12. Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
  11. 13. Prepare reports on accident occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
  12. 14. Ensure all assessment, testing and monitoring related to safety, health and environment conducted as per scheduled and stated in law and regulations.
  13. 15. Manage PPE, Fire Drill, First Aid kits, emergency equipment's and facility & etc.
  14. 16. Competence and responsible for Scheduled Waste Management includes waste collection, arrangement, documentations and others related.
  15. 17. Competence and responsible for Bag Filter Operation Management, includes all documentation related.
  16. 18. Act in Safety & Health Committee and Emergency Response Team as Secretary and Incident Commander.
  17. 19. Responsible to in charge of Mykkp
  18. 20. Responsible to in charge of ESWIS System and Bag Filter.
Qualifications
  • 1. Diploma / Certificate in occupational Safety and Health.
  • 2. Proven experience as safety officer
  • 3. In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
  • 4. Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • 5. Experience to writing policies and procedures for Safety and Health.
  • 6. Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics an advantage
  • 7. Team player with strong communication skills.
  • 8. Able to work independently.
  • 9. Minimum 2 years of work experience as Safety Officer or similar role.
