Job description

We are seeking a committed and experienced Resident Architect to be stationed at our project site in Langkawi. The appointed candidate will oversee the construction and development of a new training centre located at Mukim Padang Mat Sirat, Pantai Tengah, Pulau Langkawi.

The Resident Architect will report directly to the Head Office (HQ)—specifically to the Project Architect or Associates Architect—and is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and comprehensive reports to ensure smooth coordination between site activities and the design team at HQ.

Responsibilities

Provide architectural supervision at the project site.

Ensure all works comply with approved architectural drawings, specifications, and authority requirements.

Monitor construction progress, workmanship quality, and adherence to design intentions.

Review and verify shop drawings, RFIs, material submissions, and method statements.

Identify non-compliance, discrepancies, and site issues, and recommend corrective actions.

Conduct regular inspections, including architectural finishes and detailing.

Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical matters.

Attend site coordination meetings and provide architectural feedback.

Reporting to HQ

Report to the Project Architect / Associates Architect at HQ.

Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports in HQ’s required format.

Provide photographic records, progress updates, checklists, and defect reports.

Escalate critical site matters promptly for HQ decision-making.

Maintain proper documentation and ensure all reports are complete and accurate.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.

Registered with LAM (Part II or Part III preferred).

Minimum 7–10 years of experience in architectural site supervision.

Strong technical knowledge of construction details, materials, and local authority requirements.

Strong communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Proficient in drawing interpretation, coordination with trades, and issue resolution.

Must have previous experience preparing site reports, progress documentation, and technical reports for HQ.

Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to site conditions.

Willing to be stationed at the project site in Langkawi throughout the contract period.
