Job description
Purpose of this Position

This position is responsible for managing the reliability of a large-scale operation site. The candidate will implement the group's reliability and maintenance strategies, standards, best practices (BOP), and improvement plans at the site. They will also identify improvement opportunities, develop, and execute plans to achieve continuous improvements in asset safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the candidate will lead Durch maintenance functions across three key disciplines: electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation, ensuring reliable ASU operations. The reliability team lead, supported by engineers from various disciplines, will plan and establish maintenance strategies, engage internal and external resources, arrange for necessary parts, and coordinate with the operations director to schedule shutdowns for maintenance work.

Plant equipment maintenance and reliability management.

Implement the operations enterprise asset management system.

Oversee daily maintenance management, including formulation, review, and control of the annual maintenance budget.

Manage factory overhauls, technical improvements, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, controls, and instrumentation equipment/assets.

Coordinate general support for maintenance-related areas of expertise.

Develop and maintain data for maintenance and spare parts management processes.

Establish and maintain regional maintenance standards and procedures.

Collaborate with and guide operations Engineers on reliability and performance initiatives.

Manage maintenance resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality maintenance services on site.

Risk Management and Plant Reliability Improvement

Manage factory reliability risks to prevent major business risks.

Organize the creation of major equipment accident plans and manage on-site reliability hazards.

Lead internal reliability audits at the site.

Build contingency plans and conduct risk reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.

Implement spare parts and warehouse management standards to meet business needs and reduce costs through sharing within the group.

Use tools like condition-based maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime costs.

Drive plant reliability and cost improvement projects.

Investigate major downtime events, develop lessons learned, and share across the organization.

Manage corrective actions reports to close gaps against group standards.

Collaborate with peers across regions to maximize collective capability and communicate lessons learned.

Feed lessons learned into plant designers and Business Development Teams.

Develop a cohesive strategy and professional development plan for the team, while establishing performance criteria and creating training initiatives to drive operational excellence.

Train plant people to manage overhaul (turnaround) planning and execution.

Requirements

1. Knowledge and Experience

Minimum of a bachelor's degree, major in Engineering – Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical or technically related field.

A minimum of 10 years of working experience in ASU maintenance / Process system, possess broad understanding in all engineering disciplines in the area of maintenance, repair,(instr) retrofitting of large rotating equipment, electrical system, PLC and static process system. Minimum of 3 years at managerial position.

Familiar with ASU operations is a definite advantage.

Exposure to SAP production and maintenance modules, familiar with safety system.

Required Language: English & Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to converse in Mandarin is an added advantage.
