Position Summary

An opportunity currently exists for an experienced Regional Procurement Manager - Rigid Packaging (Metals) to join our Packaging Category team. You will be responsible for commercial and sourcing activities for packaging materials used by Nestle globally.

Based in Kuala Lumpur and reporting to the Category Lead – Rigid Packaging, your primary responsibility will be to define and implement the category strategy for packaging materials on a regional level, utilizing strategic sourcing processes, tools, and policies.

As a strategic partner to the business, we help Nestlé achieve sustainable growth by ensuring responsibly sourced supply and value creation. Located in hubs in Malaysia Switzerland, and Panama, our teams provide a range of services, including the management of procurement for specific raw materials, packaging, indirect materials, and other services. We also support Nestlé business across the globe to manage local spend.

A Day in the Life of a Regional Procurement Manager – Rigid Packaging

  • Create and implement sourcing strategies for the metals category, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across the globe.
  • Perform supplier market/category/supply risk analysis and develop Total Cost Ownership (TCO) models to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and lead regional/global initiatives to achieve cost and efficiency optimization.
  • Negotiate contracts ensuring beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers.
  • Assure synergies between various Nestle sites, striving to achieve the best opportunities for cost optimization and fulfill company targets.
  • Contribute to the achievement of Nestlé’s global Sustainability Commitments and help to drive sustainability in packaging.


What will make you successful

  • Previous experience in the direct procurement of packaging essential. Experience in the metals category is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, supplier management and strategic procurement on a global or regional scale. Demonstrated success in risk management and responsible sourcing.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills - with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across a complex, global organization.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential to your success. Fluency in Mandarin is advantageous.
