Regional Director (Manufacturing Dyestuff, Paint & Coatings, Colour & Chemical)

A multinational dyestuff and specialty chemical manufacturer from Taiwan is establishing its operations in Malaysia and is seeking a Regional Director to lead the setup and growth of its local manufacturing business.

This is a country leadership role responsible for building the Malaysia operation from ground zero, covering dyestuff mixing and formulation, plant operations, regulatory and compliance matters, team building, and business development in the local market.

Dyestuff experience is a strong priority. Candidates from closely related industries such as paint & coatings, masterbatch, colour compounds, ink, and specialty chemicals may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the setup and operation of a dyestuff mixing and formulation facility in Malaysia
• Oversee production processes, colour formulation, quality control, and safety compliance
• Manage plant operations, manpower, inventory, and production planning
• Provide technical support and problem-solving to customers and distributors
• Drive local operational and commercial growth in line with HQ strategy
• Act as the main technical and operational liaison with Taiwan headquarters

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of technical and manufacturing experience in: dyestuff or dye house operations, or paint & coatings, masterbatch, colour compounds, ink, or specialty chemical manufacturing
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of: colour formulation and colour matching, chemical and powder handling, batch mixing and production processes, quality control and testing
• Proven leadership experience managing plant operations and technical teams
• Background in manufacturing with exposure to customer‑facing or technical commercial roles
• Mandarin‑speaking candidate required (regular communication with Taiwan HQ)
• Good command of English

Preferred Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical discipline
• Experience with powder handling equipment and basic mechanical troubleshooting
