Job summary

A leading logistics company in Malaysia is seeking a Reeferman for its Landside Operations Department. The successful candidate will monitor, repair, and maintain reefer containers, ensuring they meet client specifications and operational standards. Key qualifications include a Certificate or Diploma in Refrigeration or Electrical, along with experience in refrigeration and electrical systems. Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently and in a team are essential. This role demands good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and a valid driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in refrigeration and electrical systems.
• Ability to braze copper using oxy-acetylene brazing equipment.
• Have a valid driving license (Class D).
• High sense of personal integrity and ability to supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, repair, and maintain Reefer containers according to requirements.
• Pre-trip containers as per client’s needs.
• Ensure all reefer units run without alarms and resolve malfunctions promptly.
• Liaise with Reefer Executive and Specialist to meet repair standards.
• Communicate with Duty Executive regarding part replacements.
• Maintain issued tools safely.
• Report any damaged equipment immediately.
• Assist with additional tasks as directed by superiors.

Job description

Reeferman – Reefer Services, Landside Operations Department

• To monitor, repair and maintain Reefer containers in accordance with client’s requirements and PTP procedures.
• To pre-trip containers in accordance with client’s requirements.
• To ensure all reefer units are in running condition without any alarms, resolve malfunctions on time and reduce potential of cargo claim.
• To liaise with Reefer Executive and Reefer Specialist to ensure their repair quality meets the global standard and fulfills the requirement.
• To notify and communicate with Duty Executive and EAM Clerk for any Reefer part to be replaced.
• To deal with PTIS Reefer Part Supplier Storekeeper in collecting parts.
• Responsible for the safe keeping and maintenance of the tools that have been issued.
• To report any malfunctioned Reefer found in Reefer Yard, damaged tools, and damaged vehicles to Reefer Executive for immediate action and repair taken.
• Assist in other additional assignments as and when required by immediate superior.

Qualifications

• Possess a Certificate or Diploma in ‘Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning’ or ‘Electrical’.
• Must have experience in refrigeration and electrical systems.
• Have good electrical and refrigeration fault finding skills.
• Good command in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Have a valid driving license (Class ‘D’).
• Have a high sense of personal integrity and the ability to supervise and train staff.
• Ability to braze copper using oxy - acetylene brazing equipment.
• Ability to work in a team involving staff from various cultural and religious backgrounds.
