A construction engineering firm in Johor Bahru is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to handle tender preparations, manage documentation, and deliver accurate project claims. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, with at least 1 year of experience in the M&E sector. Skills in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, alongside good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, are essential for this role. Wei Kwang Electrical & Air-Cond Engineering Works – Johor Bahru, Johor
Prepare tender measurements, check tender specifications, and coordinate with suppliers to obtain and submit tender quotations.
Support new project submissions by preparing sample board materials, compiling material catalogues, and coordinating the initial preparation of shop drawings.
Manage and revise shop drawings based on consultant feedback, site requirements, and design changes, ensuring timely submission and proper version control.
Prepare inspection forms for site use, submit to main contractors, and follow up to ensure timely approvals.
Manage and maintain a complete and organized filing system for all project-related documentation, including claims, payments, letters, drawings, approvals, and correspondence with consultants or main contractors.
Prepare, verify, and update subcontractor claims and material take-offs, ensuring accuracy and timely submission; manage claim worksheets and track payments from main contractors and subcontractors.
Prepare and submit monthly claims to the main contractor based on actual site progress and approved work done.
Coordinate project handover activities, including obtaining signed inspection forms, preparing operation manual documents, and preparing as-built drawings for handover.
Ensure clear communication and coordination with internal teams such as site supervisors to keep documentation and claims accurate and up to date.
Assist with other project-related tasks or duties reasonably assigned by management to support project and operational needs.
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
At least 1 year of relevant working experience in the construction or M&E industry.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
Able to read technical drawings and work with consultants and site teams on drawing-related matters.
Good communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
