Job description

Reporting to the Project Manager, this Quantity Surveyor position offers a unique opportunity to join the dynamic team at BMY RESOURCES SDN BHD in Johor Bahru, Johor. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality outcomes for our clients.

What you’ll be doing

1. Pre-Contract & Costing
   • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
   • Conduct taking-off, cost analysis, and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BQ).
   • Evaluate and negotiate prices with subcontractors and suppliers.
2. Contract Administration
   • Prepare contractor certificates of payment.
   • Prepare joint measurements with contractors or clients.
3. Project Monitoring & Reporting
   • Monitor project costs closely and prepare progress claims, cost reports, and updates.
   • Conduct site valuations and measure completed work accurately.
   • Maintain accurate records of project costs, documents, and contracts.
   • Prepare and submit monthly progress claims and final accounts.
4. Coordination & Support
   • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
   • Perform any ad hoc duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and/or QS-related software.
