About the role
The Quality Control Manager oversees all quality control operations, ensuring timely and accurate testing of raw materials, packaging, and finished products. This role ensures compliance with food safety and quality standards, manages laboratory activities, and drives continuous improvement in product quality, safety, and efficiency. The position also leads documentation, training, and audit readiness to maintain consistent, reliable results across all testing and inspection processes.

Key responsibilities
Target
To adhere Management direction on meeting the objective of Quality Department for Kerry in below main governance:
Quality Control:
- Ensuring timely and accurate testing of products and oversee all quality control activities of Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, Packaging Materials, Intermediate Products and Finished Products.
Quality Oversight, Testing & Inspection:
- Manage and monitor all QC activities across production lines to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Monitoring technicians, quality control inspectors, and other members to ensure they perform their assigned duty following quality standards.
- Supervise sampling, lab testing, and assisting sensory evaluations with Site Sensory Champion for raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
- Ensuring testing are conducted within the testing turnaround time (TAT)
- Work with 3rd party laboratory to ensure results are available within the standard TAT and product releases are conducted timely.
- Continuously review the product status and testing / releases. Reviewing the final product, comparing it with the initial requirements, and rejecting or approving the final product complying with quality standards.
- Ensuring all laboratory GLP and SOP are compliance to the international standard / meeting ISO 17025 requirements and ensuring results are repeatable and reliable.
- Work with Buyer and Procurement to ensure raw materials specifications are established and verified via testing regime. Oversee product testing and validation procedures for raw materials and packaging materials.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records for audits, traceability, and quality metrics; prepare reports for senior management whenever necessary.
- Ensuring all testing results are recorded and verified accordingly before product releases
- Maintain documentation related to quality control activities
Training:
- Manage training program pertaining to hygiene and sanitation
- Understand and perform GAP analysis of sanitations program
- Develop and implement training for sanitation and plant employees
Continuous Improvement:
- To participate in continuous improvement activities as necessary
- Recognizes areas of opportunity that could improve employee safety, quality, food safety, cost and efficiency
- Drives resolutions to implement improvement
- Devise ways to come up with new techniques to reduce waste during the production phase and maximize resources.
- Implement company’s productivity strategies that effectively reduce controllable costs of testing and lab consumables.
- Lead investigations into quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Analyze testing data and developing Process Capability report (Cp, Cpk) for improvement
Competency, Training & SOPs:
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); train staff on product testing, laboratory practices, safety, and quality protocols.
- Ensuring subordinate competency and skills are meeting the requirement.
- Ensuring competency of the analysts via annual proficiency test
- Ensuring compliance to Food Analyst Act
Customer (Internal / External):
- To support Operations in making sure effectiveness of QC program.
- To support plant FSMS governance
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum 5 years working experience in food industry and 10 years as managerial position.
- Preference will be given to people who have recent experience in Laboratory and QC management
- Technical knowledge in food hygiene standards, FSMS, HACCP and AIB requirement.
