Job summary

A global automotive leader is seeking a quality engineer to analyze manufacturing data and support quality improvement initiatives at their new plant in Ulu Tiram, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, alongside 2-5 years of experience in quality engineering or analytics, preferably within the automotive sector. Responsibilities include developing quality reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality. The offered salary ranges from RM 4,500 to RM 7,000.

Qualifications

• 2 – 5 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing analytics, preferably in automotive/appliance industry.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 is a plus.

Job Description

• Analyze quality and manufacturing data to identify defect trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain quality dashboards, reports, and KPIs.
• Apply statistical tools (SPC, Pareto, trend analysis) to support root cause analysis and CAPA.
• Support internal defects, customer complaints, and quality improvement projects.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to drive data-driven decisions.
• Provide quality performance reports for management review.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 2 – 5 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing analytics (automotive/appliance industry preferred).
• Knowledge of quality tools (SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D).
• Proficient in Excel; experience with Minitab, Power BI, or similar tools is an advantage.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 is a plus.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
