Job description

The QC Technician supports the quality control function by independently performing routine product and raw material testing, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. While not responsible for product rejection decisions, the technician plays a key role in approving product quality and supporting investigations under the direction of the QC Chemist or Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine quality control tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products according to established SOPs.
  • Validate lab equipment daily before use (e.g., pH meter calibration using buffer solutions).
  • Record and maintain accurate daily test logs and data entries in the QC system.
  • Approve product batches based on test results within defined specifications; escalate non-conformities to the QC Chemist or Supervisor.
  • Support customer complaint investigations by conducting additional tests as instructed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and participate in site safety programs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the lab environment.
  • Train junior staff or production personnel in basic QC procedures (e.g., Hegman grind, viscosity testing).
  • Participate as a member in lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Represent the QC department in cross-functional meetings when delegated by the Chemist or Supervisor.
Education Background Requirements

Knowledge & Experience
  • Required: Understanding of fundamental chemistry principles and practices.
  • Preferred: Experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
