Job summary

A manufacturing company in Johor Bahru is looking for a QC Technician to inspect and test materials for quality assurance. Job description

Working as the QC Technician at Welding Alloys (Far East) Sdn Bhd, your role will be inspecting and testing raw materials, in-process components, and finished welding products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. The role involves conducting routine quality checks, documenting inspection results, and issuing non-conformance reports when necessary. Technicians work closely with the production team to identify and correct defects, support continuous improvement efforts, and may also perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to verify weld integrity. Their work is essential to maintaining product quality, safety, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for conducting testing such as Chemical analysis & hardness testing for Wire, Electrode, Integra & any customer request.
  • Responsible for ensuring test results are captured in NetSuite correctly, submit the lab copy mix sheet for QC Engineer approval.
  • Responsible for ensuring the completed mixing sheets are arranged & filed in designated area in timely manner.
  • Responsible for conducting in-process inspection for Tetra, Tuboscope (welding) & any other projects assigned. Update relevant records accordingly. Any deviations to inform QC Engineer / Senior Quality Engineer.
  • Responsible for maintaining the condition of equipment in both the dry & wet labs.
  • Responsible for Incoming goods inspection (raw materials for Wire & Electrode). Conduct required inspection & label accordingly in timely manner. In the event of quality deficiencies in the goods (damage) inform QC Engineer for further action.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Wire & Electrode FG are tested as outlined in organization ISO procedure (weldability, chemical & hardness) prior to dispatch & complies with quality specification. Related ISO document (Welding test/Re-weld test) are also to be checked & endorsed in timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring all FG to be dispatched have QC Pass sticker (Green/White) for both Wire & Electrode prior to loading & also liaise with Sales & Packing section for dispatch availability of goods.
  • Assist in tasks for R&D, Non-Conformance and Customer request.
  • Adhere to organization procedure, goals, directions and work along in meeting them (SRS, 5S, etc.).
  • Any other jobs assigned by Superior.

  • Being able to use Microsoft Word & Excel is an advantage.
  • Qualification: Diploma. Certificate holders may be considered. Graduates of Material Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical (Material) are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Fresh graduate is welcome to apply.
Working conditions
  • Located at Taman Gembira, Johor Bahru, Johor.
  • Working hour from 8.30 am – 6.00 pm (Monday – Friday).
  • May require to work overtime & on weekends (on-call basis).
