Job summary

A manufacturing company in Ipoh is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to oversee the inspection of products and ensure compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising technicians, conducting inspections on materials, and maintaining documentation per ISO9001:2015 standards. This role is vital for ensuring the quality of products and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the company.

• Inspect components, products, labels and reject non-conforming items.
• Conduct quality inspections on incoming materials and ensure specifications are met.
• Read and interpret technical specifications relevant for quality control.
• Supervise technicians and maintain documentation.
• Assist in audits and maintain quality standards per ISO certifications.

Job description

Responsibilities

1. Inspects components, products, labels, boxes, pouches and coatings visually and mechanically accepts or rejects products.
2. Inspection on incoming material. Ensure the inspection is carried out. (Tensile Strength, Size, Grade according to Mill Certificate).
3. Inspection on raw material appearance, defects such as scratches / wet.
4. Reads, understands and interprets engineering or technical specifications.
5. Devise test methodology, instrumentation and fixtures to support QC inspection requirement.
6. Supervise technician and oversee technician documentation.
7. Assist in Product Certification audit certificate renewal application and schedule for equipment calibration.
8. Involve in reject control and reduction program by working together with plant operation personnel.
9. Continuous improve the quality systems such as procedure, work instructions, specifications, visual specifications and training on quality.
10. Report any abnormality found from product or process to superior and conduct root cause analysis for corrective action.
11. Conduct failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) and use PDCA cycle for reject reduction and P3I program.
12. Maintain a proper filling system and assist day-to-day QC/QA operations.
13. Ensuring that the quality and environmental management system conforms to the requirement of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 & ISO17025: 2017.
14. Implementation and Management of Safety, 5S & ISO
    
    • Follow all safety procedures & regulations and ensure safe work environment.
    • Implement and participate actively in 5S activities for the Department & Organization.
    • Support other key strategic 5S programs where necessary.
    • Adhere to ISO standards compliance.
15. Any other duties as assigned by superior or Management from time to time.
