Technical Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years.
- Strong understanding of the chemical industry and supply chain processes.
- Ability to negotiate and manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Experience in vendor evaluation, selection, and contract management.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Malay.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with a focus on results.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and industry‑standard procurement software.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials for various sectors including detergents, cosmetics, general chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food chemicals, ensuring that quality and cost standards are met.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, building strong relationships and negotiating favorable terms.
- Monitor supply chain performance, ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any supply disruptions or quality issues.
- Develop and manage procurement strategies to ensure continuous and efficient supply of materials while optimizing costs.
- Analyze market trends to identify new suppliers and innovative solutions that can contribute to product development and cost savings.
- Prepare and review contracts, agreements, and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company standards and legal requirements.
- Coordinate with international teams, R&D, and quality control to ensure materials align with specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and supplier performance, regularly reporting to management.
- Support the purchasing process, from order placement to invoice verification, ensuring timely payments and accurate documentation. Additionally, manage export process operations to ensure compliance with regulations and seamless logistics.
- Continuously improve purchasing processes and contribute to the development of best practices in procurement.
