Job description
Responsibilities
  • Review purchase requests from relevant departments and determine the most suitable procurement method.
  • Obtain quotations and assist in the selection of external suppliers.
  • Liaise with local authorities regarding local and import purchasing activities.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers to identify and resolve procurement-related issues.
  • Communicate with suppliers on pricing, delivery schedules, and order expediting.
  • Monitor outstanding orders and ensure purchase orders (POs) are acknowledged by suppliers.
  • Maintain and update purchasing records in the system, including documentation filing and management.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or higher in Business Management, Mathematics, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations (fresh graduates may be considered).
  • Good knowledge of purchasing procedures, import/export regulations, and supplier management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and procurement or ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for dealing with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (additional languages are an advantage).
  • Willing to handle ad‑hoc tasks and support management as required.
