Job description
  • Source, select, and negotiate the best purchase packages in terms of quality, price, delivery terms, and supplier performance.
  • Expedite purchasing activities for raw materials, consumables, and spare parts to meet production requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with suppliers to ensure reliability, schedule adherence, and timely updates on any changes or delays.
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
  • Control freight costs for import shipments and conduct cost impact analysis before seeking management approval.
  • Arrange and monitor local and import shipments, including customs clearance and e-invoicing activities.
  • Liaise with the Production Planner to ensure raw material availability aligns with fabrication needs.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse and Logistics teams to maintain optimal delivery and inventory levels.
  • Develop and implement purchasing procedures, systems, and efficient monitoring of all open purchase orders.
  • Ensure compliance with certified standards, customer‑specific requirements, and company policies.
  • Prepare and submit monthly purchasing reports and weekly/monthly purchase order updates to management.
  • Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by the superior.
Requirements
  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any field (preferably in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management).
  • Languages: Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and inventory management systems.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Organized, observant, fast learner, and computer literate.
  • Self‑motivated, analytical, and detail‑oriented with a positive attitude.
