Job description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to join our team at PML CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD. In this full-time role based in Alor Setar, Kedah, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing and procurement processes to support our construction operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing and processing purchase orders for a wide range of materials, equipment and services
• Maintaining accurate records of all purchasing activities and inventory levels
• Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and terms
• Liaising with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs
• Ensuring timely delivery of all purchased items to support construction timelines
• Identifying opportunities to streamline purchasing processes and drive cost savings
• Supporting the procurement team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the construction industry
• Strong numeric and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with suppliers
• Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• A team player with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
