Job summary

Job description

Manage construction projects from design coordination, procurement, construction, testing, and handover stages.

Develop project execution plans, work schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

Coordinate consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project milestones.

Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address delays or cost overruns.

Contract & Cost Management

Assist in tender evaluation, contractor appointment, and contract administration.

Manage variation orders, claims, and cost control in accordance with contract terms.

Review progress claims and certify works completed in collaboration with consultants or QS.

Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets.

Site Management & Supervision

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with construction schedules and safety requirements.

Coordinate resolution of site issues, defects, and non-conformance matters.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and statutory requirements (e.g. local authorities, CIDB, DOSH, BOMBA where applicable).

Enforce site safety standards and promote a safe working environment.

Ensure quality control measures are implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

Act as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.

Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reports to management.

Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure timely communication of project issues and decisions.

Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Manage project issues, disputes, and escalations effectively.

Ensure timely resolution of technical, contractual, and operational challenges.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain proper project documentation including drawings, approvals, site records, reports, and correspondence.

Prepare and submit regular progress, cost, and risk reports to management.

Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned.

Added Value Services

Also assist the outlets or office in building compliance, i.e BOMBA/ Fire/ CCC/ Akta 446 (Hostel for workers) as and when required.

Key Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in construction or project management, fit-out, depending on project size and complexity.
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants, and site operations is essential.
  • Professional registration (e.g. PE, PMI, PRINCE2) is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong project planning and site coordination skills.
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and regulations.
